Dry-Needling

Dry-Needling

Dry-Needling is a technique commonly performed by chiropractor or physiotherapist to treat chronic muscle tightness and sports-related injuries. Its unique approach in targeting specific trigger points has helped us to treat patients who are suffering from long-term pain.

Dry needling involves the insertion of a thin filament needle into the dysfunctional muscles as a form of stimulation. Throughout the procedure, you might feel a twitching response and slight soreness. Ultimately, the goal of dry needling is to relief muscle spasm and pain that were caused by the presence of trigger point.

Dry needling helps to:

  • Restore normal muscle tone (lasting effect)
  • Desensitize nociceptive input (highly valuable for patients with chronic pain)
  • Eliminate chemical mediators (P-substance, metabolic wastes, etc.) that cause pain & soreness

Commonly used for:

  • Neck pain
  • Low back/buttock pain,
  • Shoulder impingement syndrome,
  • Rotator cuff injury,
  • Tennis/Golfer’s elbow,
  • Knee patellofemoral syndrome
  • Sports injuries
  • And more…

Dr Lee is currently one of the few chiropractors in Malaysia who is certified by GEMt Australia to perform safe and effective dry needling technique
